In 2016 we stepped foot in a vineyard and immediately knew how special it was.  Enter Alder Springs Vineyard.  Stuart Bewley embodies unbridled passion as he farms one of the most remote vineyard sites in California.  He is absolutely obsessed with what he does, and his obsession definitely translates in the quality of the fruit when it hits the winery.   The site begins at 1700 feet elevation and goes all the way up to 2700ft.  Steep vine rows expose decomposing sandstone and shale with some volcanic influences. This makes for great drainage and limitless potential for root development.

This wine has been evolving since day 1.  It began its journey destemmed and soaked on skins for 24 hours.  After a gentle pressing for fermentation in neutral oak, the native yeast took 10 months to finish their job.  The wine then patiently aged on lees for 15 months before being racked and bottled unfiltered and unfined.

White peach and other stone fruit aromatics entice to an electrified saline finish, medium weight with huge aging potential.  This wine should be glorious in ten years.
